On Thursdays I usually go to Publix and pick up a sub for my mom and I. Last Thursday I didn't have any money at all--not even $1.00. I always pay for the sub with my credit card but I try to always have some money on me so I planned on going to the ATM right outside the store. As I was walking through the parking lot I saw a nun and I thought, "We have nuns here?" I wonder where they live? We have catholic churches but we don't have any convents--I don't think--and since I'm not catholic I don't know where a nun would live if they didn't live in a convent. Anyway, I kept walking, I didn't stare or anything--I have seen a nun before, it was just a passing thought.
So I got to the ATM, stuck in my card, thought about how gross it is to touch the buttons, and do you know who taps me on the shoulder. Well, I'm sure you do now. So upon turning around and seeing the nun I thought, "what did I do?" I have a history with religous people not liking me but I didn't think they would sic a nun on me. So there I am. AT THE ATM and she is asking me if I want to buy this necklace thing. I'm not catholic but it looked like one of those patron saint thingys. I told her no thank you--very politely too--she is a nun. But the whole time I was also thinking that even if I did want one I probably wouldn't buy one because how do I know she's really a nun. Do they have a nun ID? Like some sort of police badge or something? And also, I don't care who you are--when I'm at the ATM, you stand back. Surely even nuns know that. She's lucky I didn't beat her up or something. I took TaeKwon-Do.
Also, Tomorrow is my birthday. My mom already gave me my gifts since I won't see her until tomorrow afternoon. They are really cool. She made me a charm for my necklace--a four-leaf clover (which I said I wanted but I never in a million years expected it). And she got me a sushi kit, which I REALLY wanted. She's so cool!
